Many kudos to Bryce from California, who provided these August 2003 photos of what is now part of the trendy clothing chain Anthropologie.
The entire area has moved decidely upscale:
The outfit in the window costs about $500. For anything in my wardrobe to be worth that much, there'd have to be at least $480 worth of cash in one of the pockets:
Bryce is due our eternal gratitude for his unmatched bravery, having actually set foot in the store:
By this point in his photographic expedition, Bryce was suffering the ill effects of seeing too many $129 T-shirts. He longingly suggested the following may have been part of the water testing track from the days as a Willys dealership. Personally, I don't know why such an expensive store would have a reflecting pond. Would customers return after reflecting on how much they've just overpaid? Unknown is whether the building is all-new construction or an extensive remodel of the original:
At least his day wasn't a total loss. He was able to see a big, noisy 4-wheeler disturbing the peace in tony Palo Alto:
